Unfortunately, for a large portion of these, it’s not yet been as effective as it could be. Many of these people are still searching in vain for that perfect diet, the one that will help them lose weight and keep it off. But with so many diets out there vying for their attention, the search for the right diet can be a daunting task. Maybe this short article will help you narrow the search.

You may be one of the many people who love to snack, we all do and there is nothing wrong with enjoying the odd snack here and there. Many of you may have already heard about the new shifting calories diet that is generating so much buzz. But how many understand the physiological reasons behind its amazing success? To understand how the shifting calories diet plan works, you first must understand what causes traditional dieting to fail or even worsen the dieter’s obesity.

Traditional ’starvation’ diets work by the simple logic of ‘eat less and lose weight’. On the surface it may appear to make sense, but there is more to the mechanism of weight loss and gain than simple caloric intake.

As you lower your daily intake of food, your body undergoes a series of hormonal and metabolic changes associated with starvation. It tries to store as much food as possible in a quick and easy way, resulting in more fat buildup. At the same time, it begins to break down muscle tissues for energy.

With so many diet plans on the market today, trying to find the one that works for you can be a trying experience. Worse, some forms of dieting can do more harm than good. So what should you look for in a diet plan? The first thing it should offer is a way to increase your metabolism. This is absolutely the golden key for long-term weight loss success.

Let’s talk about what happens when most people try to lose weight. They’ll start on the program, and they’ll lose some pounds. But eventually the novelty wears off, and they go back to their old eating patterns. As they do, the old pounds and sometimes more return. But why does this happen?

To answer this, let’s talk about why traditional dieting doesn’t work. Its method is to starve the body, thus causing it to tap into its fat reserves. The problem is that the body would just eat muscle as it would fat and in fact, this is often what happens. So yes, your body will lost some weight temporarily, but much of this is just water loss.

Cranky, gloomy, irritable, poor work performance, sleep deprived and moody are just a few ways to describe a stressed out person. Stress can cause many problems with people both physically and emotionally. There are many causes of stress and many different reactions to stress and it is important to look at both of those.

Many people think stress is caused from things such as financial problems, marital problems or family issues. This is not always the case, stress can be happy events such as a wedding, children, or a vacation. Stress is about perception. What is stressful for one may not be for another. Many times we blow things out of proportion and therefore causing more un-necessary stress in our lives. Stress, whether good or bad can lead to other very serious problems.

By learning to manage and cope with your stress, you will find yourself feeling more relaxed, calmer, ad have increased energy. You may even allow yourself to enjoy recreational activities, regain your sense of humor, and a new found sense independence and self confidence.

Aardvarks Gaining On Cows Says Cartoonist

by Rick London

Londons Times Cartoons is loaded with animal images, but none is more popular and funny than the aardvark. Aardvark Dentistry is the name of one of their most classic favorites and the cartoonist has decided to do a little research on the aardvark. This is the fascinating information he found. If you are looking for aardvarks, you need to go south of the Sahara Desert in Africa. “Earth Pig” is what the Africans call them, and, in fact, the name ardvark means “earth pig”. So, makes sense to me. Their body somewhat resembles a pig which probably has a lot to do with that. But why they call them earth pigs, since regular pigs do not fly (to my knowledge) is beyond me. Their tails resemble a kangaroo’s and ears like a rabbit. Aardvarks stay inside, whatever that is during the day.
